Few people pronounce it properly, but it is a feeling all
who visit The Farm can sense. It is the German good life, a satisfaction
that comes from time and leisure, and friendships old and new. It is the
essence of convivial gatherings in the pursuit of good times.
It welcomes you when you arrive at Bill Hoffman's Knox
Creek Farm. It embraces and warms you as you sit next to the fireplace
in the Main House, or a wood burning stove
in a trail cabin. It is in every cup of hot
chocolate, glass of wine, snifter of Cognac. It is along every ski
and hiking trail, in the sauna, and
under every quilt atop every plush bed. It is the comfort of discovering
a pleasure the Farm has offered since 1885: this is the right place
to enjoy life.
DISCOVERY
Knox Creek Farm provides pleasant discovery inside and
out. Scenic miles of groomed ski and hiking trails
are dotted with Leopold benches and heated
trail cabins that sleep up to four. Innumerable species of plant
and wild life abound in the Arboretum.
And wondrous natural phenomena are to be discovered along every landscape.
Fishing and canoeing opportunities are also abundant in the area, with
Willow Flowage and a host of other lakes and streams all nearby.
Next to the Main House, which sleeps up to six,
you will find an authentic Finnish sauna to
warm your bones at the end of the day - or beginning. And inside the Main
House are Bill Hoffman's personal collections of priceless
art, literature and historic pieces to stimulate the cultural sophisticate
in all of us. Within a short walk is the Brantwood
Heritage Center, a fine collection of historic buildings and artifacts.
Pubs,
dining and the
Brigadoon
Winery are all just a short drive from The Farm. |
